HP ScanJet 7650 Flatbed Scanner with Auto Document Feeder (L1940A#B1H)
Customer Review: Decent Enough. . .
I've been using this device for about 12 months now and I'm happy enough with it. Perhaps in the future, I might try this product which seems to get stellar reviews: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000YA1XVG/ref=nosim/gizmodo-20 Yes, it does seem to jam a lot, and when it does, it does seem to be a pain to get it out, depending on where it is. But for the hundreds of documents I scan in, mainly office papers, it does the work well enough. It creates searchable PDFs, and I simply scan in a document through the ADF, and it creates a file, subbed by the month, and I'm able to later search the documents by the month. I also use the flat bed for documents that are strangely shaped, or look as though they won't fit the feeder, but those are rare for me. Overall, I'm happy with it, but I do wish I got the item I linked to above instead, because I don't think I would've expected as much for only $260. For the price of about $460 that I paid for this. . . I think we all expected less hassle with jams. . .
Customer Review: Does not work on Vista!
If you are running vista, save your money! Do not buy this scanner!!! Tech support will get it to print to their crappy software, but your computer will not recognize the driver. You will not be able to use it with any purchased software.

HP Color LaserJet 2840 All-in-One Printer/Copier/Scanner/Fax (Q3950A#ABA)
Customer Review: It Works
I just got this printer today. I don't use a network so I don't know anything about some of the issues some people have stated. I plugged it into my MAC it recognized it and I printed my first document seconds later. No software needed. The copier works well. I have not tried the scanner. Don't print with this thing during a meeting it it loud! Works great for my needs. Would have given it a 5 if it was not so loud.
Customer Review: NEVER another HP Product!
During the honeymoon, My HP2840 all-in-one was wonderful. All the things it can do, and such high quality! So impressive! I only used the color laser periodically, and not heavily, doing all my B&W stuff on an old 6p workhorse, much quicker, and at a much lower price per copy. (Back when HP cared about the products they put out) Before long, my HP 2840 made one of those scary, grinding noises that so many others report, and *POOF* would only print on the right 1/4 of the page. (The rest of the page was blank.) WHILE UNDER WARRANTY, HP could not have been better. Once the fuser went bad, and *POOF* a free one appeared in my mailbox in a few days flat. On the latter incident, HP sent a tech to my home, he worked for THREE DAYS to get this puppy purring again, and the honeymoon went on again. A few months later, and the same exact incident happened, except this time, two weeks out of warranty. HP no longer knew that I was a customer, Phone help was $25., and they could/would not recommend a tech to fix it. For $900.00, I purchased a Foot and a half by foot and a half by two foot 135 lb. boat anchor, that no one can seem to fix, (Or they need half the new price of the printer to do it.) So... Let's review: for $900.00, my cost per copy is about $3.00. The printer no longer prints anything. My desk is occupied by a 135lbs foot and a half square worthless piece of junk, whose total capabilities, at this point is SENDING faxes (Can't receive - because it can't print.) Scanning, (things that you do not need to print, of course... Oh... and it does still Read my camera card. The most useless technology investment I have EVER met. - EVEN worse than my two HP laptops - One won't play CD's and the other has a high pitched whine when you connect out of the sound card. (I'm a disk Jockey - this is what I use the laptops for) I'm absolutely convinced that HP stands for HORRIBLE PRODUCT, and I have no use for HP whatsoever at this point!

Customer Review: I love this machine
I brought in the Geek Squad to make sure it was all set up correctly and this machine has worked wonderfully for over a year. I love it and we are buying one for our office for four people to use.
Customer Review: It *Doesn't* Work In Vista!!!
I don't care if HP claims it's "certified for Vista," there's a very good chance it won't work in Vista. I had this product and I love it...worked great in XP. But since switching to Vista, I've had huge problems. Right now in my home office, it's not working on two machines, and on the machine that printing is working on, scanning doesn't work. I've downloaded the latest Vista software from the HP site, btw. But HP's tech-support staff have told me that there are "issues" with Vista, and that it might not work. So I'd be very wary about buying this machine if you're planning on using it in Vista. It may be fine...but it may not!

HP Scanjet 3500c Scanner
Customer Review: the Plug stopped working
I bought the scanner a year or 2 ago and every thing was working properly, until I connected it to my new computer a week ago and it wasn't detected by windows. I did some testing and found out that the plug stopped working. It doesn't have a light in the front, so I don't know if it's getting power, but I connected another plug and windows detected the scanner and installed it. then I found out that the plug was the under powered(I needed 12v, 650mA, The one I used one that was 9V, 300mA). So I bought one that was 18v 1100mA that worked with a printer at a second hand store, figuring it would work with the scanner, and that the voltage and current was just the maximum value that it could support. Since I'm studying Electrical Engineering I know this is possible and if the product doesn't it's probably so you have to buy the exact same kind of plug. I went to HP website and they want $15 for it Which IMO is too much. While there I had to click on about 5 links before I found what I wanted, it's very unhepful and also tech support isn't free. The USB cable that came with the scanner is too short. The Software worked well when I't was functioning, but I had trouble getting things to scan straight.
Customer Review: Great scanner especially for the price
I've used this scanner for archiving old photos, general scanning, and importing line art for coloring in Photoshop & GIMP. I've been very happy with it. The resolution & color quality is great for my uses and it's reasonably fast too. I have used this scanner on 3 different PCs and haven't had a single setup issue. You can get these for a great price here so they're definitely worth checking out.

HP 4570C ScanJet Scanner
Customer Review: Hardware pretty good, software lousy
Owned the 4570c for a while. Avoid the bundled driver software if you can. The latest version, v2.0, downloads a mere 238MB (that's right "MB"!). It runs turtle speed, making a nice USB 2.0 scanner seem like it's USB 0.002. Plugging into XP machine (my laptop), I let Microsoft find the driver. It downloaded and installed WIA-HP, a twain driver that is menial (very limited controls) but operates with considerably improved speed under my applications... a big time saver if you've got a pile of doc's to scan. My home desktop is still Win2KPro. I've had no luck getting the WIA-HP driver to run on it, unfortunately.
Customer Review: More trouble than it was worth.
Drivers have to be reinstalled repeatedly. Finally got it up and running only to have the lamp burn out.

HP SJ8390 Document Flatbed Scanner
Customer Review: Not reliable...not recommended
We have had this scanner for 1 year and it came up with an error message that our computer tech cannot fix so it sits on the desk and gathers dust. It is very slow to warm up, but scans fast after it finally warms up. Sure was a lot of money to pay for something that is slow AND didn't even last a year. Not recommended!
Customer Review: Excellent High Speed Scanner, Easy to Use
I ordered this scanner to enhance a "less paper" office. We have 5 Canon DR-2050c's for desktop use as well as a Xerox copier that can scan bulk projects to the server. However, the Canon DR-2050C was proving to be not enough capacity for the volume of scanning our secretary was performing. This HP was the right price from Amazon for the speed, volume and ease of use it provided. I highly recommend this product. A side note, our original model made a high pitched screeching noice when purchased. HP was fantastic, overnighted a whole new top half of the scanner to us and told us to keep the old for parts! Not too bad for service from HP!

HP ScanJet 4670 See-Thru Vertical Scanner
Customer Review: Very Good Scanner
I've owned the HP 4670 for nearly 3 years and have very few complaints. I don't understand the bad reviews about banding. I've never had anything like that. I work on a iMac G5, do lots of photo work. Only fault I can find is that when the scanner is in the vertical position and I try to set 2 or 3 photos to scan, they tend to slide sideways when I shut the cover. I do find this annoying. Also, it's rather slow to warm up to the first scan. But overall, I think it's a very good scanner and I wouldn't replace it unless something outstandingly better came along.
Customer Review: Not Vista Compatible
I was completely satisfied with this scanner. The only problem I had was a software glitch when I upgraded to Explorer 7.0, but that has since been fixed. Unfortunately, as with most of the peripheral equipment I had, it does not support Vista. There is a driver, but it only works with Windows Photo Gallery, which is bundled with the Vista OS and has very few features. The HP software is not compatible. But at least it works... When I upgraded to a new computer that came with Vista, I had to buy a new laser printer to replace the Xerox I've used for years as well as a later model DYMO label maker. My Canon PIXIMA iP6000D is the only equipment that had an upgrade. All the manufacturers who do not support Vista do have a solution to the problem: Purchase their latest product. I wonder if Microsoft gets a kickback?

HP OfficeJet D125xi Printer, Scanner, Copier
Customer Review: Great machine !
I upgraded from Xerox M940, what a change. No error messages, it actually works without a glitch. Double sided copying is wonderful, fast scanning and printing, document feeder is a big plus for multiple scans/copies.Two trays for different kinds of paper ( I loaded one with legal and one with letter size) The only conn is that if you turn it off, the computer will not wake it, so you have to manually turn it back on, but who cares... Got it at Office Max for $... Great deal. Big five stars.
Customer Review: This is a great machine. I'm Very Impressed
I own a small business and I needed to get a copier. Well, the last time I owned a multi-purpose machine it was junk. (expensive junk, too). This was the complete opposite, It copies pretty quickly, but what I love is the paper-feeder. (50pgs...NICE). The printer is also really really nice (2 paper trays...I use envelopes on top and 8.5x11 on the bottom). The most unexpected part, however, was scanning. I dispise scanning. I've spent hours trying to get 2 or 3 pics in my system. What a pain. Not with the HP. Here's how it's set up: On the machine itself, you click "scan to:" and in the little lcd screen, it has all of the programs on your system that you can scan to. (even ms word). Then click scan. It opens your app and puts the scan in there. (I've even done 20pg faxes!). Furthermore! I took a document someone handed to me at a meeting and dropped it in the feeder; scanned to word...stood in amazement. It actually mad the document editable.?!?!? even the fonts were correct. I tried this on my old scanner and it was a joke. No lie, it worked. All I have to say is, "I love my new machine" ps. one negative thing is for MAC users. It is really set up for windows. My client has one on his mac and it [stinks]. However, I couldn't care less about what a Mac user wants. They can get their own special toys with nice colors and pretty icons. Leave business work to HP. So it gets 5 stars in my book.

Customer Review: Overpriced garbage
HP is resting on its laurels. Having owned a LaserJet 5si for 10 years now with near trouble-free performance, as well as much loved LaserJet IIP, 6P, DeskJet 895Cse. This scanner is a HUGE disappointment. I bought it to replace the wonderful LaserJet Companion I used to scan bills etc, so I needed a sheet feeder. After returning a Visioneer because it couldn't enlarge while it scanned, this HP unit was about the only choice. It's Slower than molasses, the ADF is nearly useless. You have to set the paper size every time you (try) to scan. Additionally, I would have to unplug and reinsert the USB cable EVERY time I wanted to use it. Irrespective of computer it was connected to, I tried it on several. The HP scanning software is very inflexible, way to automatic and not friendly at all. My experience with HP scanning software is it gets worse as it gets newer, it also gets bigger and fatter. Why these companies can't focus on making products work instead of filling them with more unreliable features is a conundrum.
Customer Review: Very poor for an HP
The ADF on our scanner has failed twice in the year we have owned it. HP sugests we return it for a new one. It is EXTREMELY slow. Quality of the images is acceptable. Easy set up.

Customer Review: Excellent so far!
An awesome scanner for the money. Paid $39 at Circuit City (Sorry Amazon). Works like a dream. Of course you could get a higher end scanner but it would be a higher end price to boot. Does everything that the model replacing it does for about $50 less.
Customer Review: Clumsy Interface
I recently bought the hp scanjet 3570c to work with my OS X Mac only because my old scanner was no longer combatable with the new operating system. I have been less than pleased with the performance of my scanner. The interface is clumsy, and I feel that I have much less control over scanning preferences (i.e., descreening options) than I use to with my last scanner. The one button scanning never seems to work right. Spend a little more and get something that is going to work well.

HP Photosmart C4140 All-in-one Printer - Scanner - Copier
Customer Review: Compact all-in-one
This unit is so handy. I use it a lot for school, just plug my notebook in with the included USB cable and good to go. I was kind of bummed out I could not connect it to my home wireless network to print without cables...maybe next time I'll do more checking. I bought this on kind of a whim, I knew I needed a printer but didn't really do any research. I think it is fairly common now for the color and black cartridges to be changed out seperately, that is also the case with this printer. I also love the added bonus there is a seperate cartridge for photo paper, which can be stored on the side when not in use and snaps easily into the paper tray for printing high quality pictures - I printed copies of a wedding photo and framed it for members of my bridal party. I also did all of my own wedding invitations, they looked great, no smearing. I have scanned photos and documents and made B&W copies. The only thing I have not done yet is print directly from my memory card, but there are slots for XD, MS/DUO, CF, and SD-MMC. It has a neat little display that flips up to see it easier too. The software is a snap to install and the menus on the actual printer are easy to navigate. It is exactly what I needed, compact and easy to use, I highly recommend for home use.

HP PSC 1610 All-in-One Printer, Scanner, Copier
Customer Review: If it ever feeds any paper it prints fairly decently
I have been so frustrated with this printer I've seriously considered smashing it to bits in the alley. It actually prints fairly decent. Photos are not too bad. The color is off on scans. The biggest problem with this printer is that the paper feed simply does not work. It constantly says it is out of paper when it isn't. You have to manually push the paper in to get it to catch in the rollers and then 9 times out 10 it will suddenly feed 5 sheets at once and jam. Printing an envelope is a nightmare experience. I seriously suggest you have your blood pressure meds handy before using this printer. You're going to need a double dose. This would be a good cheap printer if the feed mechanism worked, but as it is, it's a total piece of junk.
Customer Review: Cheap printer, outrageous ink costs
I happily "upgraded" to this printer when my local office/electronics store took my old printer as a small trade in for this one. What they don't tell you is that you will be buying new ink cartridges about twice as often as what you are used to, as they are about half the size of a normal ink jet cartridge, but you still pay nearly the same amount as you would for the larger ones. So it's bascially : HP gets you to buy their printer as a relative low price because they know you'll spend hundreds of dollars very quickly on the ink. A secondary complaint is that it was terrible at printing onto paper of varying thickness, e.g. glossier photo paper. While HPs may be quality products in some ways, this is one customer who will never buy anything HP again after their used call salesman tactics with this printer.

HP Officejet Pro L7680 Color All-in-One Printer/Fax/Scanner/Copier (C8189A#ABA)
Customer Review: Small business owner
Works great as a business printer. Very fast output. However the photo quality is very poor. I had the Officejet D145 which had superior photo print quality. I am going to have to purchase a separate printer to print my brochures.
Customer Review: Impressive-Fast
I have this unit for almost a week now and all I can tell is nothing but positive feedback. I am totally impressed with this printer. It prints fast and I mean fast. At 35ppm it is impressive to see the results. Laser like quality and excellent color. I bought this unit to consulidate my 3 other printers to one unit doing something good for the environment as well as space saving. The fax, printer, copier, scanner features are working like a charm. I am very particular when it comes to printing as I have been with the rest of my printers and so far this one is a true SOHO printer. At about 2300 pages per month with one cartridge which is the XL type, it is amazing how inkject have come a long way for such massive production. It is highly recommended. I'm not sure why so many people have so much problem with this unit and I'm not exactly sure if this printer meets their expectation for that price. The truth is you get what you pay for and in my case paying $265 was worth the wait and new technology. Make sure you use the recommended paper. It is impressive when printed on HP White Bright Inkject with colorlok technology.
